South Shore Medical Center partners with Constanza Mission
South shore Medical Center (SSMC) is an independent, not-for-profit
multi-specialty group with over 60 providers engaged in internal medicine,
pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology. Since 1962, SSMC has provided
primary medical care as well as a variety of specialty and ancillary programs
at its two locations in Norwell and Kingston. It presently services approximately
60,000 patients.
South Shore Medical Center is an affiliate and founding member of Atrius
Health (formerly HealthOne Care System). Atrius Health is a not-for-profit
organization comprised of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Dedham
Medical Associates, Granite Medical Group, Southboro Medical Group and
the South Shore Medical Center. Atrius Health began operations on January
1, 2004.
Atrius Health is presently the largest Physician network, not owned by
a Hospital, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It is comprised of approximately
800 physicians/providers that practice at 24 sites in the Metropolitan
Boston area. Approximately 600,000 patients presently receive their primary
care at one of these sites.
The primary mission of Atrius Health is to provide a totally integrated
system of care for our patients, including easy access, up-to-date electronic
connectivity with the entire care team, commitment to state of the art
wellness and disease management programs, and a coordination of treatment
that will insure a quality healthcare experience for our patients.
The South Shore Medical Center began a relationship with the Constanza
Mission in April, 2007 and has subsequently provided physicians, advanced
practice providers, and nurses as participants in the important and necessary
work of the Mission. The Board of Directors of the South Shore Medical
Center with the support of Atrius Health has indicated its intention to
maintain an on-going role in the support of the Mission.
